At last you've got your results! If you've done better or worse than you expected with your A levels, you might want some information and advice on going to uni, getting a job or your other options...

Look at your options below...

- Stay on in further education

If you didn't get the results you wanted, or even if you did, you may want to either retake your A levels or choose a completely new subject.

You can also study some higher education courses at local further education colleges.

For your further education choices at sixth form and or college speak to your Connexions Personal Adviser  or visit your nearest Connexions centre.

- Go to university

Even if you didn't get the grades you were predicted and can't get into your first choice university, there may still be places on the course you want to do. Phone your first choice and insurance choice to discuss your exam results.

If you're turned down by your chosen universities, you'll be eligible for Clearing and UCAS will send automatically send you a Clearing Entry Form (CEF). More than 30,000 people gain a place through the clearing process each year!

For more information on Clearing go to the UCAS website

- Take a gap year

Many people find that they can gain valuable work experience by taking a gap year and developing their skills. Others feel they would like the opportunity to do something different before continuing their education.

To find out more about taking a gap year, visit our gap year pages.

- Get a job

If you have A levels, you stand a better chance of getting a job than someone who doesn't have any qualifications at this level. However it's still better to try and get a job that also offers some form of training - this could include an Apprenticeship.

At Connexions, we can offer you plenty of advice on getting into work and finding a job. There are Connexions Personal Advisers to talk to and our Vacancies Online website to look at where you can even apply for some jobs online!

So whether you're disappointed or surprised with your exam results, you've probably got a few options open to you. Get the information and advice you need to help you make the right choice!
